'Golden'

Directed by Michel Gondry and produced by Pharell Williams with cast members that included: Kelvin Harrison Jr., Halle Bailey, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Brian Tyree Henry, Janelle Monáe, Missy Elliott, Quinta Brunson, Anderson .Paak and Jaboukie Young-White. The musical that was canceled in post production at Universal was a coming of age story loosely based on the life of Pharell Williams growing up in Virginia Beach.

As Lead Production Assistant, supported the establishment and organization of the costume department workspace, ensuring efficient prep and operational flow. Developed and implemented systems for receiving, inventorying, and returning wardrobe assets as needed. For this period film, I worked extensively with rentals and vintage pulls. I was expected to responsibly and professionally coordinate closely with boutique owners and vendors to ensure accuracy, preservation, invoice payment, and timely turnaround for items returned.

In a joint statement from Gondry and Williams in the Variety link below they verbalized, “we appreciate all the hard work of the talented cast and crew. While we’re disappointed we can’t deliver this film, we have incredible partners at Universal and will collaborate in a different capacity again soon.”
